Faithspotting Hosts Mike Hatch and Kenny Dickson discuss and spot faith reflected in the AppleTV+ series starring Oscar winners Cate Blanchett and Kevin Kline. Disclaimer is the first television series directed by four time Oscar winning director Alphonso Cuarón and is based on the psychological thrilling novel by Renée Knight.

Faith Notes:

Disclaimer demonstrates the destructive capacity  of not effectively addressing and working through grief following loss and or anger following betrayal.

While people process grief in different ways and at different paces, intervention can be necessary when one becomes stuck in the mourning and grief process, or  when one be races through loss without mourning and processing grief and other feelings and emotions.  In a similar way, holding on to anger can lead to destructive consequences to one’s health, relationships, and community.

For Christians, faith in the new life assured both now and eternally through the resurrection assists persons who are in the midst of death and dying, and loss and grief.

Also,  the destructive power of unresolved and unforgiven anger often leads to thoughts and desires or in some cases acts of revenge. These thoughts and actions impact not only the people directly involved but family, friends, and others who are caught in the crossfire and suffer collateral wounds.

Forgiveness is commanded by Christ. Forgiveness helps protect and preserve the physical, psychological, and spiritual health and well-being of individuals directly involved as well as others. Forgiveness is often very difficult, but even when it seems impossible, God can work within one to bring them to a state of forgiveness and peace.
