John "Divine G" Whitfield is the person Colman Domingo portrays in the movie Sing Sing. He also was an executive producer on this film and made a cameo appearance as a Book Fan where he asks himself (Divine G played by Colman Domingo) to autograph one of his novels (Money Grip). Divine G is also the founder/owner of Divine G Entertainment. He has eight published novels (seven of which have been adapted into screenplays), three audio books, and has won five national writing awards. His works can be viewed on his website
