Stephen Chbosky is an American novelist, screenwriter, and filim director who is best known for the best selling coming of age novel The Perks of Being a Wall Flower, which he adapted into a screenplay and directed the film in 2012. Stephen wrote the screenplay for the 2005 film Rent as well as the script for Disney's live action adaptaion of Beauty and the Beast. Chbosky was born and raised in Pittsburgh and is a self described Theater Nerd. Stephen is a graduate of USC's screenwriting program.
